PROGRAMS

E-Z Air offers both commercial and private helicopter license training as well as advanced programs for the instructor rating and instrument rating.    Operational training in external loads and mountain flying are also available.
ENROLLMENT & TUITION

Flight training is conducted throughout the year.  Class size is limited, however, and enrollment in a course is by interview only.  To reserve a place in a course, you must enrol, purchase your ground school kit, and complete the enrollment paperwork.

Payment of tuition is in scheduled installments.  We do not require the full amount "up front". The total tuition amount is based on the hourly training rates for our training helicopters.  We do not charge GST on commercial training.

Please contact us and request a training information package by e-mail or regular post, or drop in between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Students should be aware that the medical examiner and Transport Canada will charge their own up-front service, examination, and licensing fees.  These costs are not included in your tuition and are not payable to E-Z Air.  Students should anticipate total miscellaneous fees of approximately $500.00 CDN.
DOWNLOAD AN APPLICATION

To begin the enrollment process, please download an application and mail or fax it  to our office.  Sending an application does not obligate you in any way.
The enrollment application is a PDF file.  If you do not have Adobe Reader, please visit the Adobe website to download it for free.
INTRODUCTION

E-Z Air is a Transport Canada-approved flight school and an approved post-secondary institution.
OUR HELICOPTERS

E-Z Air uses the Robinson R44, a four-seat piston-engine helicopter, and the Bell 206 JetRanger, a five-seat turbine-engine helicopter.

The R44 is our basic trainer, chosen for its versatility, safety record, and increasing popularity as both a private and commercial aircraft.  It is outselling every other civillian helicopter on the market today, thanks to its low operational costs and reliability.
OUR SIMULATOR

Our simulator is an immersive computerized training environment that completely engages the student's skills and attention.  Our simulator has received Transport Canada approval as a Level 2 Flight Training Device.   Our commercial program students can receive flight time credit for up to 5 hours of simulator time - at a fraction of the cost.
GROUND SCHOOL

E-Z Air offers a comprehensive helicopter ground school that aims to do more than just get you a passing mark on the Transport Canada exam.
Students investing in R44 and JetRanger training will reap significant advantages in terms of better employability, and the chance to do some advanced operational training within the timeframe of the commercial program, such as mountain flying or external load training.
For IFR flight training, it provides realistic IMC conditions for a variety of radio procedures, approaches, and departures. Transport Canada allows up to 20 hours of instrument flying to be done in the simulator, and IFR students find this to be a particularily useful and cost-effective option.
For VFR flight training, the simulator is excellent for practicing flight procedures.
The JetRanger is our advanced operational trainer.  Many commercial operators in Canada use the JetRanger as an entry-level light turbine helicopter, and it is currently in use by the Canadian Armed Forces for initial helicopter training.  It has forgiving flight characteristics, making it an excellent trainer.
